A Few Common Questions
Do you accept insurance?
No. LUMENA is a cash- and credit-only practice. We don't bill insurance or work within insurance networks, which lets us spend consultation time on your care instead of coding.
Can I customize a care plan?
Yes. The four bundles on our Care Plans page are starting points. Most clients adjust theirs after a consultation, adding or removing individual tests.

How much does a visit or care plan cost?
Cost depends on which tests and services make sense for you, which we determine together at your consultation. Before anything begins, you'll receive a written Good Faith Estimate, as required under the federal No Surprises Act — no surprise charges, and nothing starts without your sign-off.
What happens at my first visit?
An extended consultation and history review with the physician, followed by whichever core assessments are relevant to your goals. You leave with a written, tier-labeled action plan, not just a stack of numbers.
Is this a substitute for emergency or hospital care?
No. LUMENA is not an emergency service and does not replace hospital-based or emergency medical care. If you're experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Do you offer weight-management or GLP-1/GIP treatment?
Yes — weight-management and metabolic health support, including GLP-1/GIP program candidacy review, is part of our Metabolic Core and higher plans. Any medication decision, including sample availability, follows an in-person medical evaluation; availability and appropriateness vary by individual and clinical need.
Who reviews my results?
A board-certified pulmonary and critical care physician personally oversees every plan and result — not a health coach or algorithm.
How do I schedule, and how fast will I hear back?

Is my information kept private?
Yes. The inquiry form asks only for general contact and interest information — please don't include health details in it. Anything clinical is discussed and documented properly once you're an established patient, under normal medical privacy practices.
What if I'm not sure which plan fits me?
That's normal, and exactly what the first consultation is for — we'll match you to a starting point together rather than asking you to guess from a menu.
